Harry Cooper is senior curator of modern art at the National Gallery in Washington. He earned his Ph.D. from Harvard in 1997 with a dissertation on Mondrian and worked at the Fogg Art Museum for a decade before joining the Gallery in 2008. He has organized or co-organized exhibitions on Mondrian, Medardo Rosso, Frank Stella, and Stuart Davis. His latest show, a Philip Guston retrospective, has just opened in Washington.
