The NYSS DUMBO Gallery is pleased to present a solo presentation by Artist-in-Residence Anita Trombetta (MFA 2023). Her recent papier-mache sculptures evoke a multitude of associations such as functional objects, architecture, body parts, and cellular organisms. However, her work blurs the boundaries of language, categorization, and sculptural convention. In that vein, the sculptures are more like things than sculptures, and feel like they were made by something else, somewhere else.
