The Resnick talks were transcribed and edited by Geoffrey Dorfman and first published by MidMarch Arts Press in Out of the Picture: Milton Resnick and The New York School, 2003. This new printing is introduced by the artist David Reed, a student at the New York Studio School who attended the talks and spent time at an artists residency in Roswell, NM, with Resnick. Reed’s writing, The Empty-Handed Painter, brings a personal and insightful interpretation to Resnick’s teachings and influence.
