William Corbett and Roy Davis: Showing Albert York

William Corbett:  Poet, memoirist, art writer and editor who teaches writing at MIT. Among his books are Philip Guston’s Late Work: A Memoir and the recent books of poems The Whalen Poem and Elegies for Michael Gizzi. He edited Just the Thing: Selected Letters of James Schuyler. Pressed Wafer published his book on Albert York, Albert York. He is at work on two books, one about the painter Stuart Williams and one about the painter John Walker.

Roy Davis: Founder of Davis Galleries in 1952, and a partner, since 1980, of the Davis & Langdale Company, which specializes in 19th and 20th century American Art, and British Art of the 18th, 19th and 20th centuries. The work of Albert York has been represented by Mr. Davis’ galleries since 1963. Davis has been a member of numerous distinguished organizations including the White House Fine Arts Committee during the Kennedy and Johnson Administrations; the Century Association, NY; and the Art Dealers Association of America.
