Simon Carr, David Cohen, and Mari Lyons, with Deborah Rosenthal: The Artist as Craftsman, Walter Richard Sickert on the Craft of Art and Life

Simon Carr: New York-based artist. Recent work has focused on street and subway scenes in New York City. Mr. Carr has exhibited widely, most recently at the Painting Center, NY; Prince Street Gallery, NY; and Long Island University’s Selena Gallery. He teaches drawing at the Borough of Manhattan Community College, CUNY.

Deborah Rosenthal: (Moderator) New York-based painter, represented by the Bowery Gallery. An award-winning writer on art, Ms. Rosenthal is the editor of the Artists & Art series of books for Arcade Publishing in NY, which has just issued a new edition of Walter Richard Sickert’s A Free House! Or the Artist as Craftsman.

David Cohen: Publisher/Editor of artcritical.com and moderator of The Review Panel. Visiting Critic at the Pennsylvania Academy for the Fine Arts and Visiting Professor F.I.T., Pratt Institute and the New York Studio School.

Mari Lyons: Painter who shows at First Street Gallery. Her next exhibition is scheduled for October 2013.  A graduate of Cranbrook Academy of Art (MFA), Lyons studied with Max Beckmann and Stanley William Hayter, among others.
