Jennifer Samet

Art Historian, author of a 2010 Ph.D. dissertation, Painterly Representation in New York, 1945-1975. Curator of exhibitions on the history of the New York Studio School and on the Jane Street Group, contributor to the New York Sun and author of numerous exhibition catalogues. Former Director of the Center for Figurative Painting.

Stanley Lewis

Painter. Guggenheim Fellowship Recipient (2005). Work recently featured in a retrospective at American University Museum in the Katzen Arts Center in Washington, D.C. (2008). Stanley Lewis; Recent Works on view at Lohin Geduld Gallery, October 13– November 13, 2010. Studied with Leland Bell in Yale graduate program, 1963-1964; current Instructor of Painting and Drawing at the New York Studio School.

Simon Carr

Painter and Associate Professor at Manhattan Community College Work recently featured in exhibitions The Painting Center, NY; Haverford College, PA; National Academy of Design, NY; and Prince St. Gallery, NY. Awards include Pollock-Krasner and Gottlieb Foundation grants and the Isidore Prize for Painting at the National Academy of Design Invitational (2008). Worked as Bell’s teaching assistant, following studies with him at the New York Studio School (1974) and Parsons School of Design (1979-81).
