Linda Nochlin: Gericault, Goya and the Representation of Misery After the Industrial Revolution

Lila Acheson Wallace Professor of Modern Art at the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University. Dr. Nochlin is known for her work on Gustave Courbet, her seminal publications on Realism, Impressionism and Post-Impressionism, and her scholarship on feminist art history. Recipient of numerous honors, including fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the National Endowment of the Humanities.
