Larry Poons: On His Work
The Evening Lecture Series is free and open to the public. With inquiries, please contact Kara Carmack at kcarmack@nyss.org.

Larry Poons has been making paintings for more than five decades, continually expanding and challenging the conceits of painting itself. Poons studied music at the New England Conservatory, but decided to focus on painting after seeing a Barnett Newman exhibition at French & Co, in 1959. Poon’s work is included in collections around the world, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Guggenheim, Whitney, MoMA and the Jewish Museum. Poons lives in NYC and East Durham, New York and is represented by Yares Art.
