Keith Christiansen: Painting from Life: From Caravaggio to Valentin de Boulogne

Keith Christiansen is the John Pope-Hennessy Chairman of the Department of European Paintings at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. Since joining The Met in 1977, he has organized numerous exhibitions, including: Painting in Renaissance Siena; Andrea Mantegna; The Renaissance Portrait to Giambattista Tiepolo; El Greco; The Age of Caravaggio; Juseppe de Ribera; and Poussin and Nature. He has written widely on Italian painting and has taught at Columbia University and The Institute of Fine Arts at NYU.
