Katherine Bradford is a painter with studios in Brooklyn and in Maine. She moved to New York from Maine as a single parent with her school age twin children in the 80’s and quickly became part of the first wave of artists to move to the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. She went back to school and earned her MFA from SUNY Purchase and started teaching beginning in the SUNY system. It took her more than a decade to gain entrance to the Manhattan gallery scene. Now in her 80’s Bradford is represented by Canada in New York where her solo show will open October 23rd . She is also represented by Kaufman Repetto in Milan, Tomio Koyama in Tokyo, and Haverkampf and Leistenschneider in Berlin.
