Painter Frances Barth received her BFA and MFA from Hunter College, CUNY. She has performed with Yvonne Rainer and Joan Jonas and created two animations, a documentary, and a short film. She was included in the 2015 Venice Biennale, and has received two NEA grants, a Guggenheim Fellowship, the Joan Mitchell Foundation grant, an Adolph and Esther Gottlieb Individual Support Grant, two American Academy of Arts and Letters Purchase awards and the Anonymous Was a Woman grant. She is Director Emeritus of MICA.
