Cathy Curtis is a former Los Angeles Times cultural reporter and visual art and dance critic. A graduate of Smith College, she holds a master’s degree in art history from the University of California, Berkeley. Curtis is the author of A Generous Vision: The Creative Life of Elaine de Kooning (Oxford University Press, 2017) and Restless Ambition: Grace Hartigan, Painter (OUP, 2015).
