Instructor Fran O’Neill interviewed on Gorky’s Granddaughter

“There is something about knowing that there’s this underlying grid and structure to something that becomes really powerful. And knowing that you can break it all. Knowing that you can edge something the tiniest bit to give it a different feeling within the work itself. You know if I’m consciously making something twisting this way and then twisting out a different way than it can actually diverge or converge … and these are things that I am aware of. I did so much study of the Fibonacci Sequence and gold rectangle when I was younger that it’s in there no matter what.” – Fran O’Neill
