I am interested in the emotional relationships that we form with materials and objects. As an artist and creative practitioner; how do we navigate the notion of expression, identity and purpose, by understanding the symbols and objects that exist within our surrounding worlds. Objects, unavoidably become a living part of our lives – holding memories, they nourish, we form attachments, they can provide inspiration and can act as a symbol of ideology or representation of a self we wish to be. Memorable objects hold a history of our experience – past, present and future – we can wear, hold, observe and engage with objects in our personal and public habitats. For this curation, I have invited each artist to share an object that holds space within their creative worlds.
