Thursday Late-Night Drawing – VIRTUAL with Fran O’Neill

Course Description

Drawing is the most immediate and direct means of exploring ideas, and can be a means to an end or the beginning of bigger ideas. Whether it be to give a sense of space, form, volume, texture or composition. In this 11-week class, students will explore a variety of subject matter: four weeks of still life, four weeks of working from the model, and the final three weeks will explore portraiture, which may include a night of self-portraits. The emphasis for this course will be on the ‘making’ – with constructive critiques occurring one-on-one during the class, as well as ‘group critiques.’ Students should be willing to discuss their work and learn to expand their vocabulary in terms of talking about their process.
