Student Perspective: Betsey Lindor (CFA 2026)
“The Studio School felt like a different environment compared to what I was used to in the past. And I wanted to go to an art school, not necessarily a college that had an art program. I wanted intense work. I wanted more discipline. I wanted to expand my creativity and not be limited to a small space. I wanted to have instructors. I wanted to experience a different environment in a community setting.”

Student Perspective: Muzzammil Mehdi (MFA 2026)
“There’s a lot of occult mysticism and mythology and folklore and all this stuff that you learn about as a kid in a whole different part of the world in Pakistan that you don’t really learn about in other parts of the world, like the US. And I try to bring some of that with me when I’m in my practice. Symbols and intersections and influences. I think it makes my vision sort of unique in a way, but also in conversation with the rest of the world and broadens it.”

“I love to capitalize on the childhood experience of just trying something and seeing how it goes. And being a novice and not having all of the rules and regulations and what is right and what is wrong and what is formal. It’s honest play. And it’s honestly me figuring out how to do the thing.”
