Cohen is art critic and contributing editor at the New York Sun , publisher of the online magazine artcritical.com, Gallery Director at the New York Studio School, and moderator of The Review Panel, the popular monthly forum at the National Academy Museum, New York. His books include Alex Katz Collages: A catalogue raisonné (Colby College Museum of Art, 2005); Jock McFadyean: A Book about a Painter (Lund Humphries, 2001) and Henry Moore in the Bagatelle Gardens, Paris (Lund Humphries/Overlook Press, 1993). In addition to his weekly "Gallery Going" column at the New York Sun, which he has been writing since May 2003, Cohen's criticism has also appeared in Art in America, New York Times Book Review, Slate, Artnet, Burlington Magazine, Apollo, Modern Painters, RA Magazine, Print Quarterly and other publications. Exhibitions he has curated at the New York Studio School since 2001 include Thomas Nozkowski: Drawings; Lois Dodd: Nudes in the Landscape; An American Abroad: Sandra Fisher and her School of London Friends and Merlin James: Painting to Painting.
